Our Experience at Four Seasons Singapore

Updated August 16, 2020.

This Travel Tip Tuesday, I’m letting you in on the very best part of our recent trip: The Four Seasons Singapore. This is not a sponsored post, and we did not receive anything for free from this property or its employees. We were simply blown away by the service and accommodations that we want to return the favor and tell everyone where we think you should stay on your next trip to lovely Singapore.

The Welcome

Uniformed and smiling gentlemen opened the car and hotel doors for us, we received a friendly greeting at the front desk when we arrived at 1:00 am, the scent of flowers filled our senses, and warm, welcoming decor made us feel comfortable from the moment we stepped onto the property.

The Price of Luxury

We have stayed in Four Seasons properties in the past, and we considered staying at one for our upcoming anniversary trip. But in many cases, rooms can exceed 1000 USD per night, and that’s a bit above our price range. Not so in Singapore. We actually upgraded for a small fee and were able to enjoy a tremendous suite with a huge living area, dining area, large bed and bathroom, and a half bath as well! I was way too sleepy to get great pictures, but here’s the view from what might be the most comfortable bed I’ve ever had the privilege of sleeping in.

The Gym

Hotel gyms are not notoriously wonderful or well-equipped, but the gym at the Four Seasons Singapore is one of the best I’ve ever seen. They utilized the space well, so there were plenty of weight machines (including a Smith machine, which I have never seen in another hotel), free weights of all sorts, yoga mats and balls, treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals, stair climbers, and the biggest surprise of all for me: not one, but two foam rollers! That might not seem too exciting to most, but for a runner with knee and hip flexor issues, that’s a little miracle.

Fresh Fruits and Flowers

Everywhere we looked in the hotel from the entry to the room, we saw gorgeous flowers. When we stepped into the room after a day of touring, we found fresh, whole fruits with a beautiful orchid waiting for us on our table. Not only did it make the whole hotel smell inviting, flowers have a calming effect, especially on me.

Above and Beyond

We had a bizarre incident involving our flight reservation and unfortunate timing, but the staff at the hotel went far above and beyond what we were asking or expecting them to do to help us fix it in time for our flight. One concierge was on the phone, on hold until it came time to pass the phone along to us, while the other was brainstorming with us to come up with some ideas or other avenues to create the outcome we needed. We spent over an hour with them in the afternoon, and then another hour in the morning before we left for the airport.

Additionally, room service put together a to go breakfast for us long before the breakfast buffet was to start. Our room rate included breakfast, but we would have to miss it in order to get to the airport for our flight home the last day. I have never experienced that at another hotel, and we were so thankful for the opportunity to enjoy a lovely breakfast in less than lovely circumstances at the airport.
