Any other coffee lovers out there? Just me? It’s one of the first things I search for when I start planning a trip. And one of the best places to find great coffee? That’s Key West! I was so impressed with their coffee selections that I was inspired to dedicate an entire post to the best coffee shops on the island. Here are my picks!
Keys Coffee Company
This one became a fast favorite! Not only do they have an incredible coffee selection, they also have delicious made-to-order breakfast. I think you’ll be pleased with anything you get here. Me? My pick is the frozen cafe con leche, which tastes to me like the best coffee milkshake ever made. I got three of them over the course of a week on my most recent trip!

Funky Rooster Coffee House
I was surprised that this one wasn’t on Trip Advisor, leading me to believe it was new when I visited. But I’ll tell you the truth, this places makes one of the best iced mochas I’ve ever had, and I’d go back for another every day if I could! Their ambience was fantastic as well–antique couches, local art, large front porch, what’s not to love? I highly recommend this fabulous local spot, and you can find it at 713 Caroline Street.

Key West Cuban Coffee
Want something Cuban? You’ll have your pick around Key West–just 90 miles by sea from Havana! This coffee shop and eatery prides itself on their authentic Cuban fare, including their coffees. I got their cortadito, which is Cuban espresso brewed with sugar, then topped with milk foam. If you need something strong in the morning, this is the place to get it!

Cuban Coffee Queen
It wouldn’t be a “coffee in Key West” post without a massive nod to the Cuban Coffee Queen! They have three locations on the island, and the one with the famous mural is up on Margaret Street. Their iced coffee is one of their most popular beverages (they use coffee ice cubes–genious), but they also have amazing Cuban sandwiches and more for breakfast, lunch, and supper, too!

Love this!! Finding great coffee shops is one of my favorite things to do when traveling as well. Not only is coffee the elixir of life (I’m a bit of an addict), but there’s something special about coffee culture that gives a great insight into the heartbeat of a new place.
Yes! I totally agree! I think I might like the ritual of coffee almost more than the coffee itself! ๐ I always look forward to trying out local coffee shops wherever I go!
Couldn’t agree more!!!
Cuban coffee Queen is the best! I now order it for home.
Everyone has their opinions! I love Cuban Coffee Queen, too, but itโs Keys that gets the sin from me!
