Everyone loves a bargain! I’ve written several times about experiences that are worth the cost–and some that are definitely not–but if you can have an iconic experience at an excellent value, do it! Many cities offer discounted deals or city passes, and Europe offers some of the best. Here are my top picks: The best values, the best deals, the best prices!
Best of Bruges Deal
This one is pretty great… It’s completely FREE and comes with €50 worth of vouchers for sites around Bruges! Vouchers can be used at some of the most popular sites in town, including guided tours, canal boat tours, several private and city museums, and more. Our favorite was the canal boat tour!
Not into the sites? You can choose from two other “Best of Bruges” Deals: Bruges in a Box, filled with chocolate, cookies, Belgian recipes, and other treats; or Shopping and Tasting, which features vouchers for restaurants, shops, and wellness and beauty services.

This deal is almost too good, since there are more benefits than you could possibly take advantage of in just a few days! Truly, though, this is the best deal in town. Even if all you do is take the antique trolley all day long, that’s a savings of €3 per ride! The Lisboa Card not only gives you FREE admission to many of the city’s most popular sites, it gives you discounts to even more.
What’s the biggest savings on this ticket (besides the unlimited trolley rides)? Jeronimos Monastery in Belem. It’s the most expensive site to visit, plus you need transportation to get there, which is included in your Lisboa Card! (P.S. Be sure to stop next door at Pasteis de Belem for the original pasteis de nata tart!)

Athens Combo Ticket
You can’t go to Athens without visiting the Parthenon, so why not get a deal on it, right? With a savings of up to €34, it’s an excellent value. Even if you only visit the Parthenon and the Ancient Agora, you’ll be breaking even on the cost of the ticket; everything else is pure savings! We saw everything on the list in just two days, and an added bonus of having the Combo Ticket is the fact that you get to skip the ticket line, so you’re saving time on your visit as well!

This card seems too good to be true… But it’s for real! This card is such an incredible value because it’s good for FREE admission to all Salzburg sites. All of them. No fine print, no showing up thinking your pass will get you in, only to be surprised that it doesn’t–it does. It’s also good for all public transportation, as well as discounts on excursions and day trips. Don’t go to Salzburg without getting this discount card as soon as you arrive!

Croatia is known as a bargain destination… With the exception of Dubrovnik! That’s why the Dubrovnik Pass is such a game changer. It pays for itself, even if you only visit the City Walls, and everything else is pure savings. It’s not good for all the sites you’ll want to visit in Dubrovnik, but it’s an excellent value for some of the big ticket items. Don’t miss Fort Lovrijenac, Rector’s Palace, and, of course, the City Walls! Just remember that it’s only good for one admission to each site, so you can only get into the City Walls once–make it count!
