Farm-to-table fare. Home cookin’. Mom and Pop shops. Franklin has some of the best food in the South–and as a born and bred Southern girl, I’ve had an awful lot of down-home meals! Here are the best places where we ate in Franklin while we were in town for my handsome cousin’s wedding!
Coffee and Coconuts
This was our first stop after leaving the airport, and it was an excellent choice! I love the island vibe of this local coffee shop. They have acai bowls, sandwiches, and more on their menu, but when I saw the bacon and cheese quiche, I knew that was the one for me! My husband got the Club Sandwich, which was extra tasty because it was grilled like a panini!

Americana Taphouse
This was a fun find! I loved the fun, Americana decor and vibe they had going on. We were quite hungry by the time we got here for a late lunch after running around all day. Thank goodness everything on the menu is hearty and delicious! We loved the ham and biscuit appetizer in particular. Take a look!

Merridee’s Breadbasket
This is a Franklin icon, and the only restaurant that made me break my “never eat at the same place twice in one trip” rule–once for coffee, and again for lunch! Merridee’s Bread Basket is a must for any trip to Franklin. Breakfast, lunch, and coffee are all winners, and they recently started opening for supper Thursday-Saturday evenings! I’m already dreaming of what I’ll get next time I go…

Biscuit Love
Another iconic Franklin restaurant is Biscuit Love! It’s in a beautiful, old house, just a block or two off the main square, and we loved it! Their biscuits are amazing, but the most fun is the fact that they’re square! Biscuit Love is open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch Wednesday-Monday, but it’s a popular spot, so get there early to get a good seat!

Puckett’s Grocery & Provisions
The original is in nearby Lieper’s Fork, but the one we visited was in Downtown Franklin! I love the concept of a general store and restaurant, and they have live music some nights as well! Everything on the menu is Southern, hearty, and delicious. There are no bad options! My husband and I met up with my dad and older brother here for supper, so we got to try a lot of different things!

Triple Crown Bakery
What a delight! We went here for a treat after I made some book sales at a couple of local shops, and it was the right way to celebrate! They have the most amazing pastries and sweets you’ve ever seen, and the shop is so sweet and pretty! You can sit inside or enjoy your treats out on their front porch. Very sweet, and very Southern. I’m a fan!

55 South
This one came recommended to us, so now we’re recommending it to you! It’s right on Main Street, so it’s easy to find. We found the service to be both friendly and fast, and the food was delicious! The shrimp salad was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. I’d get it again! Steve also enjoyed his fish tacos. It was a winner!

Honest Coffee Roasters
If you’re visiting Franklin, odds are that you’ll find yourself at The Factory sooner or later. It’s an old manufacturing plant that currently houses local shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and a farmers’ market on Saturdays! My cousin and his new wife are both coffee connoisseurs, so when he told me I needed to try out Honest Coffee Roasters, I put it on my list! Their coffee was awesome, but the bacon and cheddar scone was the unexpected delight I never knew I needed in my life!

Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast
If you’ve been reading my posts for long, you know I love a good bed and breakfast! Not an Air BnB, mind you, a real bed and breakfast! The Magnolia House B&B is just over half a mile from downtown Franklin, and their breakfast is absolutely to die for. We stayed four days and had something different each and every day! Mr. Jimmy sets the table with magnificent precision, and Mrs. Robbie makes absolutely incredible meals. If you’re looking for a place to stay with homemade breakfast included, I recommend the Magnolia House!
