Updated April 12, 2022.
Happy New Year! I hope your year is starting out well. I know you’re probably already tired of hearing about everyone’s diet plans, weight loss goals, and “healthy” recipes, so let me assure you: this is not that! This is an honest review of the Kira Stokes Fit app!
If you’ve been following me for a little while, you know exercise is super important to me. It helps me handle my stress and anxiety, helps me prevent injury, and signals to my body that it’s “time to be awake” when I’m jet lagged and trying to adjust! One of the best things I’ve ever done for myself is follow Kira @kirastokesfit on Instagram, so I wanted to share her amazing app with you.
This post is not sponsored, and I did not receive payment or freebies in exchange for this post. I did take advantage of the 7-day free trial, but that is available to everyone!

Why Kira Stokes?
I’ve been following Kira for four or five years now, and I found her thanks to Candace Cameron Bure! I love her moves because they’re always functional, doable, challenging, and extremely well-captioned so I can both see and read about how to do the moves correctly.
She’s been training people for over 25 years, and according to her Instagram, some of her more famous clients include Josh Groban, Lindsey Vonn, Nastia Liuken, Ashley Graham, and, of course, Candace Cameron Bure!
Kira’s trademarked “Stoked Method” is well-researched and backed by science. You will feel worn out when you’re done with one of Kira’s workouts, but you’ll be oddly energized and glad you did it!

How the App Works
Because her workouts are functional (combination moves, moving in all directions) instead of static (working one muscle group with one move at a time), the workouts both make you stronger and prevent injury in everyday life. She talks about what the moves are doing for you as you work, which I appreciate, so you know the good you’re doing for your body.
The app is set up such that you get to pick and choose your individual workout. You can mix and match to your needs and goals. If you want a one-and-done situation, choose an Athleticore or Shred 360 video for 30-60 minute workout. Want to complement your run with an upper-body workout? She has body part-specific videos for just that purpose? Too snowy, dark, or dangerously hot to run outside? Check out her cardio videos instead!

Why Travelers Will Love the App
The app works so well for travel because it’s so diverse. There are workouts for every skill level, every situation (hotel gym, bench in a park, bodyweight only, bands, gliders, playground ball, pillow, couch, etc!), and you can do so many of them absolutely anywhere! My bands and gliders always travel with me, so I know I’ll be able to get a fun, varied, effective workout anywhere with help from Kira.
Honestly, I love having someone there telling me what to do and counting the reps so I don’t have to think about it! When I’m jet lagged, in a new place, and coming off an eight-, twelve-, or eighteen-hour flight, I need to move and wake up my body, and having the app makes it a little easier to get motivated!

Equipment Suggestions
The first three links below are to Kira’s online shop. These are not affiliate links, and I make no money nor receive any kickbacks for these links–I just love her products!
The other three links below are Amazon affiliate links. That means when you click on the link to shop with me, you’re supporting my small business at no extra cost to you!
- Loop Bands: These are awesome for travel! They’re so light, take up very little space, and you will get multiple killer workouts with them!
- Gliders: These look so innocuous, but trust me, you’ll be feeling their effects the next day! Kira uses these in many of her workouts, but I also take them on travel with me as well!
- Playground Ball: This is one of the toughest pieces of equipment you’ll ever workout with, which is what makes it so effective!
- Jump Rope: This travels well, of course, but also, 11 minutes of jumping rope is equal to running a mile. How’s that for effective indoor cardio?!
- 2-10 Pound Hand Weights: These are not essential, but handy to have around! Many of Kira’s workouts include weighted exercises, along with body weight, bands, gliders, etc., so having a range of weights is highly recommended. Don’t skip the two- or three-pounders, too. You’ll definitely use them for fine-tuning, no matter how strong you already are!
- Exercise Mat: This is not essential for all workouts, but it comes in handy for ab work, planking, and anything you’ll have to do with your knees on the ground. You’ll be glad you have one!

Workouts I Love
Every body is different and has different needs. I love how Kira changes it up and has loads of options to choose from!
Jump and Burn
Kira’s “Jump and Burn” workouts are great for those days when I can’t get outside to run for any reason. Ideally, you’d be doing these workouts with a jump rope, but I don’t have one, and I actually get really frustrated with jump ropes! So I just jumped without one! Kira also mixes up her jump rope workouts with strength training sometimes, too, so you’re not going to be bored with jumping rope (or just jumping) for too long!
Shred 360 Express
I’ll be honest with you, when I see a workout video that’s an hour long (or more), I’m often too discouraged to even start! But Kira’s Shred 360 Express workouts are always 30-35 minutes (totally doable), and all the moves are compound exercises that hit multiple muscle groups and give you the most bang for your buck. You will definitely feel worked when you finish one of these “express” workouts!
Curbside
These “curbside” workouts are all short add-ons that you can do anywhere! I like adding one or two of these after a longer workout, or just choosing three or four and making those my whole workout!

Pricing
7-Day FREE Trial
Absolutely anyone can get a 7-day FREE trial of the app! This is perfect for anyone who’s on the fence or doesn’t really know how Kira’s workouts will work for them. Seven days is plenty of time to experiment with the workouts to see what you like, how the app might fit with your schedule, and decide whether or not you want to subscribe on a monthly or yearly basis!
$14.99 per Month
This is the most effective, most cost-efficient gym membership you will ever have! Paying $14.99 per month is an excellent deal, especially given that Kira is constantly adding new content and new challenges to keep things fresh and prevent boredom!
$144.99 per Year
If you sign up for a full year, that will be $144.99, which takes the monthly cost all the way down to $12.08! That is less expensive than any gym I’ve ever been a part of, and the quality of Kira’s workouts and methods are on-par with having your own personal trainer.
