It’s the difference between looking like a newbie and looking like a pro: Is your book on Goodreads? It should be! You can put it there for FREE, and it’s easy to do in just a few steps. Here’s how to put your book (or any book!) on Goodreads!
Step 1: Go to Your Goodreads Profile and Click “My Books”
Websites change periodically, but at the time of this writing, “My Books” is at the top of the web page, next to “goodreads” and “Home.”

Step 2: Click “Import and Export”
You’ll find this at the bottom of the menu options to the left of the page.

Step 3: Click “Manually Add Books”
Don’t stop there! Ignore everything on this page and click on “Manually add books” to the right, just under the “Search” bar.

Step 4: Fill in All Your Book’s Information
Now we’re getting somewhere! The fields denoted with an asterisk are required fields, but fill in as much as you can. The more information, the better! And by all means, check your book information for typos!
If you don’t have all the information yet, like an ISBN, you can add that later.

Step 5: Upload Your Cover
Before you tap “Create Book” at the bottom of the page, be sure you upload a cover photo!

Step 6: Click “Create Book”

Step 7: Wait a Few Minutes
You’ve done it! Now check back in about 10 minutes to make sure everything is correct, including your cover. Sometimes you will have to re-size your cover image for it to show up.

You did it! That wasn’t so hard! Want more? Check out all my best tips and how-tos on my Writing and Publishing Page. And while you’re at it, give me a follow on Goodreads!
