Between take-out, curbside pick-up, and contactless delivery, I’d say the American people have been eating well in quarantine! It’s not easy to find things to be excited about when plans have been getting cancelled, trips delayed, holidays all but cancelled, etc., etc., etc. We’re doing it, though! My friends have been gracious enough to send me some of their food pics from the Great Quarantine 2020, so here’s the best of what we ate in quarantine!
Tiff’s Treats
Plano, TX
Tiff’s Treats is a cookie delivery service that will literally bake fresh cookies and bring them to you still warm. My friend Jill loves their oatmeal raisin cookies!

Sweetwater Tavern
Falls Church, VA
My friends Lisa, Hal, and Sam maybe won the comfort food award with their order from Sweetwater Tavern (one of D.C.’s Great American Restaurants).

Komi’s Pop Up Happy Gyro
Washington, D.C.
My friend Betsy ordered up some vegetarian-friendly options from Komi’s in D.C., and the results look surprisingly appetizing!

Poke Hub
Reston, VA
Poke is a Hawaiian spin on traditional sushi bowls. Poke Hub opened right across the street from us a couple of years ago, and I love it! I always get mine with brown rice, tons of limitless toppings, and 3-4 scoops of their incredible seafood!

CAVA
Reston, VA
CAVA is a definite fan favorite at our house. Their ingredients are always fresh and delicious, and options change seasonally. Their yogurt tzatziki sauce is always available, though. I love it!

Anthony’s Restaurant
Falls Church, VA
My friend Susan and her family got an authentic Italian meal from a local favorite, Anthony’s! I don’t know about you, but I could go for baked spaghetti every day of the week!

Sweetgreen
Reston, VA
Another local favorite for me is Sweetgreen. It’s a D.C.-based salad chain boasting fresh, seasonal ingredients, and they make up some great flavor combos! Steve and I ordered on their app and walked over to pick it up one Sunday afternoon.

Honeygrow
Reston, VA
Honeygrow is new to the D.C. area just in the last year or so, but it’s one we plan to visit again even after quarantine is over! We ordered on their app (and saved $3 by doing so!), walked over to pick it up, and they brought it right out to us. You can choose your own noodles, protein, beggies, sauces, and more!

The Swiss Bakery
Annandale, VA
This has long been a favorite of mine. I have a soft spot in my belly for authentic European food! This little shop just off the Beltway gets deliveries directly from Switzerland, and their baked goods are some of the best I’ve ever tasted! The day before Easter, my husband Steve and I needed a little drive just to get out of the house, so we picked up some hot cross buns and took some to our friends who live nearby—from a safe distance, of course!

Robeks
Reston, VA
Sometimes I just need to eat something tropical and pretend like I’m on an island somewhere far away. You, too? Lucky for me, Robeks delivers! This acai bowl includes acai berries, banana, strawberries, peanut butter, papaya juice, granola, bee pollen, honey, and I added whey protein for my little muscles. It was a yummy piece of island heaven for a moment!
