Change is Coming to the Blog!

Hello, my faithful readers! Thank you so much for subscribing, commenting, liking sharing, Pinning, and (most of all) reading my blog over the years. I have some big changes coming over the next week or so, and while I am hopeful the transition will be seamless, is anything ever seamless in real life?

New Website!

When I took some time in 2020 to give my website an overhaul, it turned out so much better than I could have ever expected! In the last three years, however, I’ve noticed some glitches, inconsistencies, and issues with my hosting service and with WordPress. You may have noticed some of these, too, but it’s finally come to a point on the back end (where the magic happens) where I’m struggling to even create new country pages and edit my blog posts.

I’m going to be switching to a different hosting service, which should fix these issues, but as with anything, there will likely be some unforeseen issues that my incredible web guy, Ken, and I will have to work through. This process could take a day, a few days, or even a couple of weeks (I have a LOT of material here!).

The last time I updated the site, I had to go into every single blog post (nearly 1,000 at the time) and create new images, recategorize my material, correct some elements that I didn’t realize I’d been doing incorrectly for years, and cull down some of my posts that had never performed well. We were able to get the website up and running for everyone, but it took me months to complete all the updates. I’m very hopeful that this go-around will be a much smoother, less labor-intensive situation for me and for Ken!

I appreciate your encouragement to keep going over the years. Quick Whit Travel Blog 3.0 will be the best yet, so get ready for more amazing content coming your way, including new posts about Israel, Tahiti, and even more travel tips, hacks, and strategies. I’ll be back soon!

New Business!

In the meantime, I’m starting a new business! My business partner is John Nicholson, of Egypt Elite. We became friends before and during Steve’s and my trip to Egypt, so he asked me to be his business partner in expanding the business into Israel and the Holy Land.

The company is called Elevation Journeys, and we are specializing in Christian group tours of Israel and the Holy Land. We’re going to be offering some truly unique experiences to our groups, like live-streaming a Sunday sermon from Jesus’ baptismal site, the Shepherds’ Field in Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee, or the Mount of Olives. Our groups will also be able to offer add-on trips to Jordan and Egypt while we’re at it. Our tagline is “Elevate your faith,” and that is what we aim to help our groups do.

If you think your church or other Christian group would be interested in a trip with us, please be in touch so we can start planning your trip. For now, you can e-mail me at whitney@quickwhittravel.com to get the ball rolling! Also, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram @elevationjourneys!
