5 Beautiful Things about Bangkok

IMG_4765

It’s Faraway Friday! This week I want to share with you some of my most favorite, most colorful photos. My sweet husband whisked me away for a quick weekend in Bangkok last summer, and the vibrance of one of the most visited cities in the world was stunning! Take a peek at the pictures below, and prepare to start planning your own trip!

Patterns

The level of detail and the amount of patience this took to make is amazing to me! Everywhere we looked, the tile work made us stop and stare.

Textures

But the patterns weren’t the only things that caught out eye! The textures on every building, wall, and statue!

Figures

Some of the statues were larger than life, and others were miniature, but all of them were stunning! The details, colors, materials, textures, molding, and every other element caught out eye and made us take a closer look.

The Golden Buddha: covered in plaster for hundreds of years to avoid thieves, he was dropped one day and some plaster fell off. Then they realized what was beneath.

Flowers

Who doesn’t love flowers! From plumeria to orchids and beyond, Bangkok was bursting with blooms. Every pop of color and beautiful scent made Bangkok more beautiful to us.
